ADVERTISING MY MAGAZINE THROUGH WEB 2.O
As i have a specific house style and colour scheme throughout my magazine i would carry this on to the website to create continuity. The website address is allocated on the front cover of my magazine so that anybody who walks into a shop where my magazine is being sold can easily see the website without having to look inside or buy it. The website would contain music videos/behind the scenes footage/exclusive interviews etc.
I would pay Facebook and other social networking sites to advertise my magazine as these are frequently used by my target audience. There would be direct links from facebook to the website, making it easily accessible for consumers. I would also contact iPhone app developers to create an app for the apple ranged software that has proven extremely popular especially in my target audience age range. The app would be a constantly updated website in a iPhone format where consumers can browse, interact, download and subscribe etc.

Queen of the Damned
Itunes has a new Queen. Her first single “Breathless” was released on Monday 21st February 2011 and in 7 days has topped the charts and sold over 100,000 copies in the first three days! That beats Florence & the Machine by 1 day! The artist has already been compared to the likes of Florence herself but her unique voice and styles are unlike anything we have heard/seen before.
Queen Alexia, aged 23, was born in Manchester and was brought up by her hippie mother Gwyneth and Dad who was a lead bass player for a Punk band in the 80’s. Her ‘unnatural’ background and influences have created a beautiful sound. She says,
“I love making records that people maybe don’t understand or aren’t use to, that way I know I’m bringing something new to the table and not covering stuff that has already been done.”
Due to her Father’s flamboyant lifestyle he was always touring so her mother brought her up single handily for the majority of her childhood. She was homeschooled and she taught her to sing and play the guitar, not to mention how to read and write music. She went to a public Secondary School where she achieved 5 G.C.S.E’s grades A-C.
Now the Queen can finally step out of the darkness...
Queen of the Damned has been playing, on average, three performances a day and between doing countless TV, Radio broadcasts and interviews. . She has interested the likes of Adele, Florence and even Beyonce! Her tour will begin in 2012 and already roomers of joint tours with some big names are on the lips of a few producers.
Alexia is currently putting the finishing touches to her debut album, ‘ITS NO GOOD CRYING OVER SPILT BLOOD’, and will be available for purchase or download on Monday 4th April this year.

The music industry have been longing for a new and individual artist to emerge and Queen of the Damned has done exactly that.

House Style
I decided to use these three colours as my house style colour scheme. This is because red has allways been a colour asociate with fashion, red lipstick, red heels, red coats...everything! And, like I mentioned previously, a large part of my target audience is teenagers who are keenly interested in the ever changing fashion industry. A lot of leading music magazines also use the colour red e.g. NME, Q,Metal Hammer and BLENDER. Also black and white contrast well with eachother and help emphasise parts of the magazine when i need them to stand out. The colours are also quite punky which, due to my mixed hybrid genre, work well at conoting a bad ass edge to the magazine.
